What should we wear?
This is a great question I get this question a lot and its sort of hard to answer but in an effort to give you some ideas I made a Pinterest board for inspiration, feel free to check it out HERE . My biggest piece of advice is to pick something that you feel beautiful and comfortable in then just like that everyone else will work well together. Take some time and pick an outfit that you love and feel like you can MOVE in, possibly sit in the grass in, then plan everyone else's outfits around you. Mellow, solid colors, textures and layers photograph wonderfully, just try and avoid anything with graphics or anything too ‘matchy’. Once you book, I am also definitely here to give any feedback through email.
Do you use "Props" or "Pinterest" shot lists?
My style is not like everyone else’s, my hope is always to give you real life photos. Our sessions are very organic and laid back. If you like my photographs, what you're seeing is a reflection of this...I don't want the end result to feel contrived. I really strive to connect with each family, and photograph in a way that feels right with each family.
So the answer is mostly no but I do have a couple “Yes” props for families. If you have kids that are wiggily, bring a beautiful quilt or blanket for them to "land on", it can be a really natural way to get everyone in one frame together! And if you are announcing a new little one or the date of your wedding, try and think outside of the box, here is another great Pinterest board for a little inspiration on “yes” props.
How many images will I receive?
50+ Hand-edited, high-resolution and web-sized images with personal print release. Delivered by an online gallery (CDs are also available)
How will my images be processed?
I go through each session and pick out the absolute best images of you and your people. Once your session has been "culled" I go through each photo individually and hand edit it. I love giving you a balance of mostly color with a couple black and whites thrown in. Editing is such an art for me so I love creating a cohesive story with not just the photos I choose but also the style and coloring.
How long will my session last?
Sessions will last 30-40 minutes from "hello" to "all finished! You guys are going to love these" It is important to be about 5 minutes early so that everyone is ready when we meet.
When will my images be ready?
All sessions take 1-3 weeks to process after the date of your session. But all will be done before December so you can all have them finished before you want to send out any Holiday cards or updates.
All galleries delivered via online gallery.
What is the price?
Price: $125. A full payment is due at time of session and a signed contract must be signed to reserve your date and time.
Where will the session take place?
Sessions will be held in unique locations either woodland or open spaces! I will be working to think outside the box for where each or all of our sessions will be this year, but trust me it will be beautiful and Fall color filled.
If you have a specific idea or a special place for your family please send me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up another time for your special family session.
What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Overcast, even drizzly weather can make for good photographs...Umbrellas are fun! I understand that it’s not feasible for all situations. If the weather is looking “questionable,” I will check in with you and we will determine if our session will take place or should be rescheduled. Due to a very limited booking schedule, I do my absolute best to hold sessions on your reserved day and time. If we have to cancel due to POURING rain, our session will take place on the following day. Sunday, same place and time.
